Google search and Google image search

I want to discuss something about Google image search.

First of all if you enter some query in the Google search then result shows some images also. That images are taken from the Google image search and if you type the same query in the Google image search then you can see the same images in the top 4 images of Google image search.

Google Crawler for text (Google bot)

This crawler crawl only content on your page. It’ will not understand the images on your webpage so if your site contains image then add a descriptive line which describes that image in alt-tag.

*crawler=It is a search engine program which search for web pages in the web. Google yahoo, msn like every search engines have their different crawler.

This crawler updates the content regularly and always search for new content. The crawled pages are indexed in Google database and then displayed in search results according to your query.

Google Crawler for Images (Google image bot)

This crawler crawls only images on your page. It is little bit lazy and update is done once in 2-4 months. The results are displayed in Google image search

Now we will consider one example.

Say my keyword is mobile phone. My web page contains information on nokia 1100 mobile phones and it also contains pictures of related phones. Then Google crawler comes and indexes only text in my web page and after words if my site is well optimized, for a query mobile phone my site will displayed in first page of search result.

For a query mobile phone if my website image should come in first page of Google image search I should optimize my site and image well and save in website folder as something relevant like nokia1100mobilephones.jpeg or…something.

Another interesting fact is if you are in the top 4 in Google image search for query mobile phone then that image also displayed in normal Google search result for that query.

Cuil-Google killer!!!!!

Cuil is a search engine which is launched last year and it is a biggest search engine which indexes more pages compared to other search engines and giving relevant results. It is a big threatens to Google.
